Vintage Fashion vs Todays Dresses
Todays Wedding fashion might be different (in many ways than others) but the root of it is the same. Wear something that you LOVE and that your partner would LOVE on your BIG day! Before it was, you must wear something WHITE, PRETTY, ELEGANT and let’s not forget…LONG/PUFFY.
For example, these dresses (above) would not have worked for your Destination Wedding, they probably would not have worked for a local wedding today! But the root of it is there, she loves it, he loved it they both enjoyed it.
Today’s fashion looks more like:
Things change! Fashion changes! Styles, looks, trends, fads they all have something to do with our choices now and days. Especially on a dress!
Most little girls play with their mothers high heels, their make-up and sometimes even re-enacts a wedding they saw on television even before they can brush their teeth! Their imagination runs wild especially when “Charlie”, the stuffed Teddy Bear, is the officiant of her Bedroom Theme Wedding or when “Linda”, her favorite doll, is her Maid of Honor. A little girls dream of having a beautiful wedding has not only been a thing of recent, it dates back to when Dreaming and Imagination was possible. A perfect example of that is Kate Hudson & Anne Hathaway’s movie “Brides War“. There is a scene in the movie (by the way, if you havent seen it…1. SEE IT NOW 2. SPOILER ALERT) in which Anne Hathaways “child” character is playing wedding with her toys and knows exactly what she’s going to wear and where she is going to married.
“The day, the time, location, color, shoes, food, guest list, everything has to be just right.” – Carla E.
The location plays a BIG part in the style of the wedding. If you plan a wedding in a ballroom, its only right to have a big princess style ball gown. If you plan a wedding on the beach, it’s only right to have a loose, flirty fitting dress. But with trends and “out-of-the-box” imagination, we’ve seen extravagant and out of this world dresses. I recently interviewed Nayeli from Dreams Tulum Resort & Spa in Tulum, Riviera Maya. Mexico and she stated that the most extravagant combination of a Bridal gown along with Bridesmaids attire went as follows:
Blue Wedding Dress – Bridesmaids Tuxedos –
